Connecting Receiver to PC

Hi

Did a search for this, but no luck.

I have a Sony STR DB1080 Receiver, and would like to link it up to my PC - about 20 feet away in another room.

The computer has an Audigy2 ZS soundcard with an spdif out.

Just basically need to know which type of cable would be suitable for this, and also where to purchase it (cheap as possible).

Also which input on the receiver will the wire go into?

Many thanks

You will need an optical cable with the small optical adapter.. You will need a free optical in port on the amp, if your lucky you might have one on the front.

Im afraid I have no idea where you will get a 20 ft cable from though as you will need 7 metres!!

Hi

So I will be needing an optical cable, and not a digital coax as I suspected?
Better start looking for 7metres then!

Thanks for the reply

i only have an old audigy player so dont have spdif out on it but im assuming that it had a little black plug in it. If so then you will need an optical cable. Wont it be easier to move one to the other and have a normal sized cable ??
