Connecting PS5 to LG C1 OLED via HDMI 2.1 using Arcam 550

Hi.

I am trying to connect my PS5 to my LG C1 tv via HDMI 2.1 input on the TV but my Arcam 550 reciever only does HDMI 2.0. I know that the LG C1 can do eARC and my Arcam 500 can do ARC. There is one HDMI cable going from my Arcam to the LG TV's eARC enabled HDMI input. When I connnect my PS5 via HDMI 2.1 cable to another HDMI input on my LG, should I expect the audio to come out of Arcam 550?

Given the Arcam 500 is an ARC only system you will get two audio options, PCM 2.0 (stereo) or Dolby 5.1.

On the LG TV you must set the digital sound output to auto for it send Dolby 5.1 to your sound system, then change the PS5 sound settings from PCM to Dolby.

Depending upon the combination of hardware you may experience audio lag with Dolby so setting it back to PCM on Playstation should restore audio sync.

So long as the Arcam is connected to the HDMI2 ARC port on the TV all audio from the TV will be sent to the Arcam, select the HDMI-ARC output in LG sound speaker selection.

Normally ARC is enabled by default, just connect the HDMI output of the Arcam to the ARC port on TV, it doesn't work your going to have to look up the manual and check that ARC is enabled on the Arcam.

I just use a optical cable from the TV to my hdmi 2.0 receiver, connected the consoles straight to the Oled, put the TV sound to Dolby and pass through and works excellent for Dolby Digital, without sound delay. If you don't use pass through I got a 166ms delay.

No need to mess around with arc.
