    Hi,

Thinking of connecting my X-box to my panny PJ with one of these (refer to link).

    http://uk.special.reserve.co.uk/q_GG4207_games_console_to_p.html

Can anyone advise me if this will work. The rear of the PJ has a VGA input, so I pressume that I could run the console through this connection via composite scart, with the sound routed to the amp.

    Any advice to suggest otherwise.

    Thanks,

    Cap.:smashin:

I'd suggest that you definately do not take your video connection via composite to a projector. Composite is the worst quality connection available (apart from modulated onto a TV aerial feed), so I'd expect it to look pretty rubbish on a big screen.

There's precious little info on that web link, but it looks like the unit comes with the plug to go straight into the console, so I wouldn't have though a scart plug would be involved.

Does your projector accept component or RGB (as opposed to RGBHV) inputs? If so it would be preferable to use this sort of connection. I might be wrong, but I'd expect a VGA converter for this price to do a fairly poor job......

look for VGA box for Xbox on eBay.
just be careful as most of them are cheap line doubler but there are few genuine VGA box for Xbox - like X-digital or Kgrapher(?).

I have my X-Digital VGA box on eBay listing.
Look for X-digital VGA box for Xbox.

I got an all-in-one video pack from Game. It was reduced to £15 and had S-video, DD5.1 optical, composite vieo and COMPONENT video out.

I use the latter to connect to my AE-300 and it works a treat.

As a bonus the break out box meant that the distance (3 METRES) between mt projector and amp is bridged bt the optical and component cables.
