I'm new to this home cinema stuff and have taken the plunge with the Mission's (£430 from EmpireDirect).

While I'm happy to follow the manual and connect my system as it dictates, I was wondering whether you can wire the speakers direct to the amp/receiver or are you obliged to connect them to the sub and then use the supplied umbilical cable to connect the sub to the amp/receiver?

    Edward,

I wouldn't try this, the NTX sats can only handle frequencies above about 200hz, the sub has a crossover that splits <200hz to the sub & above to the sats. I would guess that it may be possible to damage them with a loud full range signal.

Unless someone else knows that they would be OK then I wouldn't risk trying!
