connecting laptop to hd box?

    Hi

    Can i connect a laptop to the sky hd box and copy stuff off the harddrive or move info the other way

    I see there is a usb slot and a sata slot but i want to use usb to usb

    will i need special software -i have windows xp with media centre

    Nope. USB + SATA are both disabled.

    Thats so Sky can sell us and external hard drive in the future I'll bet

    Even if they were enabled, it wouldn't help in the way I am assuming the OP desires.

    The Sky content is encrypted, and you wouldn't be able to watch it on the computer anyway.

    Sky have said they will be enabling the SATA port in the not too distant future, and also said they will not be selling drives. You will be able to plug any drive in
