Connecting HD devices to my monitor

Above is the monitor I am about to buy, I know I will want to connect both my Xbox and Laptop to it. The best way I can think of is an HDMI cable out the laptop/xbox and an AVG into the monitor.

Does such an HDMI (male?) to AVG exist, all the reviews I found said they do not work?

P.S. IS the monitor HD?

The easiest way is to buy a monitor with multiple DVI and HDMI inputs. That monitor is VGA only.

You can't do VGA to HDMI; one is analog and the other digital.

The Xbox 360 can output VGA or HDMI (VGA only if you have very early model).

So make sure that the display has a minimum of two inputs DVI for PC and VGA (or HDMI) for Xbox 360 if you buy the official Xbox 360 VGA cable it comes with an audio breakout box so you can pipe the audio to an analogue input.
