I need help please. Recently moved house and now need to reconnect all my equipment. I have a Sony TV with 2 scart sockets. A dvd player, video recorder, and sky box. I also have an analogue aerial. Basically I have scarts going from everything to everything and even have an extra scart splitter. I have a signal boost box and coaxial cables going to other rooms. What is the optimum setup and do I need all these scarts. EG I have 2 scarts from sky box and 2 from video recorder. Where does the aerial input need to be connected to? TV, Video or Sky box?????

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Right, lets start with the Scart Leads

Connect 1 Scart lead between the DVD player and the TV.

Next Connect 1 Scart lead from the Sky Box to the VCR (Could be Marked Decoder or Similar), then Connect the VCR to the TV using another Scart lead using the second Scart socket on the VCR, and the free socket on the TV.

Right next are the Aerial Leads.

For this I am going to assume you have the main aerial lead going into the Booster/Splitter first.

From the Booster/Splitter take a lead into the RF in on the Sky box.

Connect a lead between the RF out on the Sky box, to the RF in on the VCR.

Connect a 3rd lead from the RF out on the VCR to the RF in on the TV.

    Hopefully that should work.

Thanks for that, i'll give it a try and hopefully everything should work!!!

I have noticed that since when I go to the programme menu in Sky, then select a programme to watch, the 'smart' setting whicjh autoswitches to widescreen etc nolonger works and the pictures are distorted. Any idea why this is happening?

    Thanks

Try swapping the Scart leads into the back of the TV
