connecting dvd player to av receiver

    can someone confirm whether or not i will need to connect my dvd player to my amp to the multi ch in L,R, RL, RR, SUB, CEN with analogue cables if it is already connected via a single coaxial cable?

    Once connected via a digital link you shouldn't need to connect by analogue as well. I certainly don't with either my Pioneer DVD recorder or my Panasonic DVD player.

    It depends if you play DVD-Audio/ SACD disks through your DVD player. If so, then connecting using the 6 analogue connectors will probably give you a better quality sound than using the coax. You should till use the coax for regular DVDs though.
