    Greetings,

On connecting the Archos to my PC, this exercise burnt out my motherboard on the PC, the unit was turned off as per instructions but once I connected the USB lead, this sparked and PC hung with resulting damage.

I am reluctant to try this with my lap top as I am unable to use the PC now.

I have connected and disconnected the device many times in the past but on this attempt it caused the fatal damage.

Has anyone had similar experiences like this?

    Peter

Never heard of anything even slightly like that happening.

I would avoid using the same USB cable again just in case, but I can understand your reluctance to use the Archos with another PC .
