I'm a bit useless when it comes to anything apart from switching a TV on so im seeking help. Just bought a samsung lcd and noticed that it has a USB 2.0 input which samsung say i can view 'large scale digital photos with' i was wondering could i connect a HDD to it and watch movies from that hard drive. I know a friend does something similar with a external hdd but via an xbox. any advice or recommendations taken. I also have an xbox which will be connected to the tv but would prefer to connect hdd to tv without using the xbox if possible.

thanks in advance.

i don't see why not? isn't the reason why they put it there in the first place? Or better still browse the user manual.

Try with USB stick if you have doubts! Am sure you have one
And if it works external hdd with own power supply should work as well.

I have an ext hdd attached to tv too!
