I am considering buying a new MC pc which would fit in the living room near my flat screen tv. In this room it will be used for recording tv, playing dvds, and web surfing.

However, my wife also wants to be able to use the pc in a different room on a different floor. Needless to say we don't want to be carrying the pc from room to room.

Is there a wireless solution to link the pc to a second screen in another room, and also enable us to operate a keyboard and mouse, and therefore the pc, if the pc is in a remote location?

Failing the wireless option (the house was rebuilt a year ago, and I don't really want to start laying more wires), is there a cabling solution?

    Thanks,

You could connect the video/audio source via composite cabling, this would mean running coax from the pc tv out through to your 2nd tv, i would then suggest a bluetooth desktop pack (keyboard and mouse) this should reach 20 metres from the base computer. Im in the stages of setting up exactly what you want, i fortunately have a new apartment with return feeds in each room linking coax signal. This is going to save me some time. The weird thing i find is that WMCE was made to allow this type of use. I have a 42" plasma, a 17" lcd and a 20" crt all which i want to connect for, tv, study and bedroom browsing net/ movies/ mp3s. I'm awaiting pc and bluetooth kit, i'll let you know how i get on!

What would you use as the second display? Monitor or TV. What are the outputs on the graphics card. Do you want sound? Do you want two sets of keyboards and mice? How far is the extension?

I've tried the bluetooth keyboards, wouldn't go through my ceiling to room underneath. The best long range option is the Ultra Gyration range, love one can't afford it. http://www.gyration.com/ultraprosuite_fullkey.htm

KVM Extenders. No wireless, that I can find. There are a few other options. CAT5 converters are very good. A few examples, loads more. Most are analogue, VGA etc. I've got a few HDMI/DVD but they cost a lot more.

P.S. Don't use composite, nasty nasty picture.
