Connecting a Modem to my TV

Hello,

I've just bought a brand new widescreen Panasonic televisual Beast and it's got a port at the back to connect a modem as well as a computer serial port.

The instructions just say, "this is for connecting a modem to your television", or "this is for connecting a computer to your television".

Is there anything useful I can do with these ports?

Cheers.

What sort of port is the modem port? Is it an RJ45 (Computer Ethernet) or RJ11 (US Phone) type?

The RS-232 (Serial) Port may be used by engineers to connect to the television through Telnet or equivalent, although I've never heard of this on a TV before.
