Connecting a DB Opera Sub 15

I have a student (9 of them!) neighbour noise problem and (after trying everything else) have been retailating by using a Sunfire HRS-8 to blast base through my house wall. I just plug my ipod in with a suitable soundtrack and hit them with the base. I have just bought a DB Technologies Opera Sub 15, I rang DB before I bought it to check if I could just plug the ipod in and was told yes, however I only get a bit of disotrted sound from it and the Signal light is not illuminating. Can anyone help?

Hi Pete, fancy finding you on here! In answer to the text you sent me I have been looking on the web for a solution to your problem with the sub I sold you. Which Ipod do you have? Does it output a line signal? If it doesnt then the signal wont be at all powerful enough to drive the sub.
I will keep looking and will let you know if I find anything out that may help solve your problem.
