    Hi,

    Is it possible to connect a DVD player to the VCR scart socket on the back of a Sky+ box and watch DVD's through it?

    I am connecting SKY+ (via rgb)-> JS VGA Converter -> PW7 plasma. I would prefer not to use a scart switcher if possible.

    So basically I want to know whether I can connect

    DVD (via scart) -> SKY+ (vcr Scart) -> Sky+ (via rgb)-> JS VGA Converter -> PW7 plasma

    Thanks

    Thanks - I didn't think of that - that helps me

    Leave the sky box turned off (standby) and it does a pass through I guess

    Yes you are correct.

    However I tried it with a cheapy player that plays DVD copies (apparently) and it gives a blank screen. Tried it on component scart and YUV scart - no luck.

    Tried it with an old Toshiba player (won't play DVD-r) and works fine as you suggested.
    Slight red tint at the top of screen - poor scart cable.

    Thanks for the suggestion - got me up and running till I get a panny dvd recorder
