I am looking to get a HD player in the next two or three months and was looking at the Toshiba web page and am bit confused.
Can someone tell me the pros and cons of the ones listed?

    HD-EX1
    HD-EP10
    HD-E1

Also, are they the only ones?

The HD-EX1 is the top of the range player - this has analogue ouputs, where the others don't, but is the most expensive at around £430 or more. This also has a better scaling chip.
EP10 is a step down and E1 is the entry level one (good price at £180).

EX1 and EP10 are likely to have further firmware upgrades to fix/add new features.

If it wasn't for the fact that HD-EP30 and HD-EP35 are being released next month, I'd go for the EX1, but I'm going for the HD-EP35 which is the EP10 replacement (but has a few additional features like analogue outputs).

Actually, they ALL have analogue outputs, but the XE1 has Multi-Channel analogue outputs in addition to the stereo ouputs. Further, whereas they all have HDMI output, the XE1 also has both Coax and Toslink digital output, whereas the lower models just have Toslink. Also, the EP30 is the replacement for the EP10 -- the EP35 is the NEW kid-on-the-block :)!

Yep, almost got the details right !

As I don't have an amp with HDMI inputs yet (will probably upgrade later this year or early next) I'm going for the EP35 with Multi-Channel analogue ouputs that should allow me to hear the HD soundtracks.

I probably would do the same, if i didn't already have the E1 :)

My E1 is connected by Toslink to Marantz SR8500 (only dvi not hdmi inputs)
and i get great sound out of this set up.

Believe would get even better sound if connected via 5.1 analog set up with XE1/EP35.
