Hi guys,
Upgraded from an Xtreme Mac 4 x 1 HDMI switcher to an Ultimate HD Cables 5 x 1 switcher and pleasantly suprised. Not sure if it matters but the UHDC switcher is approved by the HDMI ATC Labs, is 1.3b compatible and for bizarre reason my picture through my panel looks slightly brighter as if the contrast has been raised slightly (but in a good way). Hmmmm....it's all 0's and 1's right??
Only thing I've noticed is this has a Pre-Emphasis switch at the back which is supposed to be used when running cables over 5 metres. When on (my cables are 1 metre) seems to slightly dull the picture like the Xtreme HD switcher now did. The Xtreme HD switcher apparently automatically adjusted the signal level. Does this explain the slight contrast differences? Or...is it just a matter of this new bit of kit being "better"??
Either way....I recommend it and the eBay seller
