The user guide for this receiver says that it supports both formats but only makes mention of DTS with regard to CDs.
I have my DVD player (Pioneer DVR-530) and Grundig Freesat HD receiver connected by optical cables and I find that they both cause the decoder to switch to DD when that is the source. However, a lot of my DVDs say they are recorded in both DD and DTS.
Can anyone tell me if the RX-V363 is capable of switching to DTS and, if so, how?

DVD's almost exclusively default to the DD track. To change to the DTS track you'll have to change it in the DVD's menu. You'll normally have an audio setup or language settings section within the DVD menu.

I can't comment on that amp in particular but most auto-detect the relevant codec.

easy, select the DTS sound option in the DVD menu:)

Thanks. So easy really but I had never been faced with that issue previously and did not realise the sound settings were there on the DVD.
