hmm where did my post go? GAH!
Well I rang Av sales to get a bundle price on a load of kit I need and the sales guy told me that their is no such thing as a black PW6 PWD6, which is techincally correct I believe as it's called 'ash'

However if you look at their site:
    http://www.av-sales.com/plasma/html/panasonic_th-42pwd6_plasma.html

    It looks almost bronzed

Compare it to every other site selling the PWD6
    http://www.panasonic.com/flash.html
    http://www.ajelectronics.co.uk/ViewProdDetails.asp?prod_code=PON04C000017
    http://www.plasma-screen.co.uk/PanasonicTH-42PWD6-Plasma_Screen.htm
    http://www.cheapelectricals.co.uk/acatalog/Panasonic_TH42PWD6_th42pwd6.html
    http://www.uk-plasma-tv.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=34

I could go on, they are all black looking as opposed to av sales which looks bronze to me.

Anybody help? When I tried to point this out, I was told' Their is only one pwd6', so sadly I said my goodbyes, put the phone down. Didn't seem interested in hearing me out ..

Nope. It came like that when I bought it. Ordered a PWD6 expecting a black one and a silver one arrived. :D

Unless it says PWD6 actually on the plasma somewhere I'd be tempted to think that you were actually delivered a PW6 instead.

Box has TH-42PWD6BX stamped on it and it was also checked with Panasonic & the serial number corresponds to a PWD6 as well. Apparently there are a few silver ones kicking about.

    It's like this one:-

Let's not quibble over model numbers. The colours are either charcoal or silver. That's it, unless you pay someone to spray the bezel a different colour.

Don't rule out AV Sales over something silly like this. These guys are experts, and would have been a little miffed at being questioned over the colour of a set that they have sold hundreds of! Ignore the inaccuracies of the other non-specialist e-tailers.
