Hi Guys
I'm a bit confused about all the DSP settings on my Yamaha amp.
I play both film/TV and music through the amp and there are different music modes (2ch stereo/5 ch stereo) as well as a host of other modes which are presumably for non-music inputs.
These are things like:
Movie standard
Sports
Action game
Standard movie
But there is also one called 'surround decoder'.
Is this the one I want to have it on to have movie/TV output in whatever format its originally in (that's what I want)
IE if the source broadcast or file is 5.1 DTS that's what it will come out as?
Originally I had it on 'standard' as that's what I thought it meant, but then I noticed I was playing a 2.0 file but had the dialog coming out of the centre speaker which I thought wouldn't happen?
Sorry, a bit new to all this! I have a 3.0 setup at present and I want to make sure I get the best out of it!
Also is it best to go with the 2ch or 5ch stereo setting for music, with my setup? Obviously it's in the purgatory land between the two! I'm guessing 5ch stereo will just play the music through the centre speaker also whereas 2ch won't?
Thanks
