I've currently got Sky, along with the set up that allows me to watch the same channels in our bedroom.

However, I'm going to upgrade to Sky+ with the following package:

    Standard Sky+ / 2nd Subscription Combination Package.
    £250 Sky+ STB
Reuse existing Digibox for 2nd Sub - £25 per month Combined Subscription (Sky+ and 2nd Sub)
    £75 Install & Relocate

My question is this - with the current set up in our bedroom, will they automatically re-wire this into the Sky+ box within the installation fee?

And secondly, can you run this type of setup from the second relocated digibox into a 3rd bedroom - basically for the children? I understand they will be limited to the same channels.

Last but not least, with this set up can the following be done: Watch one channel on Sky+ whilst recording another; and on the 2nd box in one of the kids bedrooms, watch a totally seperate channel to the ones being watched/recorded off the Sky + box downstairs?

Sorry for so many questions, although I guess the answers will primarily be YES or NO's.

    Thanks in advance...

    Tim:)

Personally i would get back onto sky as that deal does not sound too great

    ordered myself yesterday

    Sky+ and Sky+ subscription
Mirror card for other box to use upstairs

£15 extra per month (to what I am paying now)
    £250 for the sky+ box

    Free installation of sky+
    Free relocation of current box

£75 cheaper initially and £10 p/m cheaper than what they have quoted you

my deal was done on a loyalty scheme

Hi Bobbles - but you have to take out the Sky World Package at £37/£38 a month to qualify for that.

Personally I'm not a huge sports fan, and the movies aren't worth it IMO - thats why I decided against the Loyalty scheme offer.

If you were going to upgrade to the Sky World package anyway, then it's a no brainer; for us we just use the Family package - and pay for movies if there's anything worth watching.

The rest of the time we'll pop down to Blockbusters :)

yes i had to go back to the world package. I had all the sports for the footy

So it worked out at en extra £8 p/m

this is still £2 less and £75 cheaper initially. Plus, I get the benefits of having the movie channels

I am not sure if I am tied to world for year, if not I will get rid of moviemax at the earliest possible time

Personally though I would ring Sky and tell them your situation you are a loyal customer and expect the loyalty package on offer, otherwise you will be ringing telewest. Speak to the duty manager I bet he/she cuts you a better deal

I am intending to get a DVDR and then put some of the films I might have bought onto DVD now i can record them in DD5.1 through sky+

The money i would save recording the Sopranos, West Wing, ...

I will also not have to wait a year to have them on DVD

You may be able to transfer them onto DVDR but you wont get 5:1 sound I don't think any "home" burners can do this yet.
