I am running a composite out of my ps2 with the video signal straight into the TV, the left and right channel and then converted into a DIN conector, which goes into the back of the aforementioned amp. However playback of sound via the PS2 is distant, at a low level and with lots of hiss. This is true irrelevant of which input i connect the din to. I thought it might be the lead, so i used to run my CD player but it worked fine. I am now at a complete loss. Please help.

So you are taking the sound from the TV and not the PS2?
Is normal TV sound coming through okay? If not then there would appear to be a problem with your TV's output.

You'd better get yourself an RGB PS2 scart that has two phone plugs for stereo sound. Then you can either get a converter to take the phonos and give you a din or cut the cables and make up a din connecter.
