Hi guys
Is it possible to control a concealed sky HD box using a magic eye or any other gizmo. I'd like to put the box in a unit with solid doors to reduce it's noise a wee bit.
Thanks in advance!

Yes you can use a magic eye, BUT beware that you ensure that the box has adequate ventilation - overheating is the biggest killer of digiboxes and Sky digiboxes output quite a bit of heat and cutting back on noise can very often lead to cutting back on ventilation.

Yes, you can use a magic eye to control a hidden box, no problem. Be careful, these boxes need cool air. Two fans inside are active, and as the unit temperature increases, so the performance can decrease. Be careful what you wish for.:D:D:D

Thanks guys
The cabinet is completely open at the back so should be ok temperature wise. It currently sits on extended feet above an AVR300 so the move might do it some good.

My HD box is quite noisy but it's really only a problem at low volume levels

Thanks forthis thread - I was wondering this too and now I know!

Now where to get me a magic eye! hmmm:smashin:
