I want to connect my computer to my TV, a Toshiba 32WL48P.
    (Mini D-sub 15p, no DVI).

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 151s computer monitor - will the lead I use to connect this to the PC work with the TV? I mean, is it okay to use this or do I need a special version?

Sorry if daft question, but don't want to damage me new telly!
(Or computer, for that matter!)

Many thanks from a total noob.

The lead of your current monitor can be used, no worries. :)

BTW: I came across a site that says the Toshiba has a HDMI input, so you could also use DVI via an appropiate adapter cable (assuming your PC has a DVI out).

    Thanks for your reply, Reiner.

My PC doesn't have DVI out - what kind of card do I have to get? Is it just a straightforward DVI card?

What's the URL of the website you were looking at, please - sounds interesting. :)

    Thanks again.

Uh, you better ask that question in the HTPC section. I mean any card with DVI output would probably do, but there are too many cards with different features/performance and I wouldn't know which one to recommend.

I just googled your TV, this site for example mentions that the TV has a HDMI input:
