compression?

    hello all,
    can i compress dvd files that are over 4.5g to fit on dvds that are actually 4.5g?all the software i have{nero]has no facility for compression.anyhelp would be gratefully recieved.thanks.jay.

    There's loads of software that will do this... including Nero 7 Ultimate edition. Others like DVD Shrink, DVD Santa, DVD Clone etc... all with varying degrees of quality. Try a few and see which is the best for you.

    i already have dvdclone but it wont let me copy commercial discs.any help?

    Download something called DVD Region+CSS Free. That should sort you out. You can only download free trial versions but I'll leave you to figure out how to work around that one. :D

    i've got that dvdregion+css free...does the business, but now and again you'll need to update it

    i also use 1click dvd copy, this works for the compression/copying/burning bit, but it can be moody - it's best to make a 4.5gig copy to hard drive and if you watch it at 32x speed (only takes a couple of minutes) and it smoothly progresses right through without locking up, then you should be able to burn a decent copy to dvd...1 click can also handle copying and burning to dual layer (if you do this, dvd+r seems more reliable than dvd-r)

    Dvd shrink is great with nero,and free to download(small file if i remember as well).JUst type dvdshrink in google.
