component Vs Hdmi

    I have the samsung 950 dvd player connected via Hdmi to a toshiba dlp tv.
    The picture quality is good very good in fact but would it be better if I connected it using component? The component out is progressive scan but i dont know if the Hdmi is too...? I hope you can understand my question.

    Most of HDMI is progressive, the 480p, 576p, 720p are all progressive. The HDMI is probably the right interface to use, not because it is better per se but because the component outputs on the 950 are pretty naff!

    Are you sure - look carefully at the specs of the cable you mention! Costly - yes. Good! Not so sure :)
