I am about to purchase an Amp for home cinema/occasional music. I have been researching for some time now, but am confused as to exactly what some features do and the benefit each feature would have in the real world. For example, Component Video Up Conversion is a feature on the current range of Yamaha amps, from the RX-V557 onwards. I assume in the real world I could connect my Sky+ box to an amp with Component Video Up Conversion via the Svideo connection and the signal would be up converted to a component signal giving me a better picture for Sky? Is this correct and if not, what is the real world benefit of this feature?
