Component Video question

    Hi,

    Just a question about component video. If you use this method of connection, does the TV (e.g.<br />Toshiba 40WH08 etc) automatically switch into<br />anamorphic mode when viewing anamorphic DVDs?

    If you're gonna start talking about SCART sockets<br />don't even bother replying.

    I have my 40WH08B connected via components and it auto switches to the format the DVD has been encoded in (4:3, 16:9 etc...)

    Thanks for that. you wouldn't believe how many stupid answers I've had from previous posts trying to get an answer to this question - most of them ramble on about SCART wss switching.

    The WHO8B switches automatically when fed through componant video interconnects...and I have the Tosh SD210 player and the picture is truly stunning <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

    How does component video switching work then?

    Scart pin 8 widescreen switching won't be used as it is not present.

    Line 23 WSS could be used and Toshiba sets recognise this. However, this is not widely used.

    So to those that answered yes, please give an explanation.
