Component-Video & PAL

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and I hope you can help me with a problem I am experiencing.

My setup is as follows:

Panasonic 42PW5 plasma + PT600 tuner
Denon 2800 MK-2 dvd-player

I have connected the Denon using a component-video lead to the tuner.

When I play region 1 (NTSC) dvd's everything is fine, when I try to play a region 2 (PAL) dvd the screen goes black and displays "AV4C" (AV4 is used for the component lead).

When using a Scart (RGB) lead both NTSC and PAL are displayed fine.

I checked all settings on the Denon but everything is set correct. The player does support progressive for NTSC but when I set it to interlaced the problem is the same.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem with a Panasonic plasma or Denon dvd-player?

Any feedback is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Edwin

Problem is solved :)

A combination of settings on the dvd-player was the cause of PAL failing over component-video.
