Hi Folks, I have a Toshiba dvd with Component Video input. I wish to use it with my new Samsung rear projection TV which only has 3 scarts. I have been informed that as long as i still use the CVI at the rear of the DVD player, I can use a lead that has the 3 phono plugs on one end and a scart at the other. Will I achieve component video in this way? My previous TV had the CV inputs so it was obvious, but this way im unsure that it is the case.

as far as i'm aware, if the tv doesn't have component inputs then you won't get component pictures. the signal will just be converted to scart(RGB). however, other people may have more info.

The only tv's that I'm aware of that can accept component signals via scart are those made by Loewe.

If your Samsung only has scarts at the rear, then your options are limited to RGB and S-video.
