I have my 36ZP18p connected to a SD-210E DVD player through the component video cables supplies with the DVD player.

Are their any better quality cables that can be used instead and if so, which ones would you suggest?

I have sky digital connected to the TV through a QED RGB scart cable and IMO, that picture quality is superior to the picture quality from the DVD - the colours just seem brighter and stand out more.

Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

    Thanks

Try the PGV-332 component cable from the bandridge profi-gold series.
Good Quality cable and you can pick one up for about £40-50 depending on where you buy.

All you need is 75 ohm coax like RG59 or RG6. Proably 50p a meter. Then put on some good quality plugs or get someone like Keene / Lectropacks / Gordon knock up some proper RG 59 cable or the equivalent.

If it is good enough for the BBC.......

Thank you for the replies. I got a set of cable for £30 and the improvement is marked - the pictures from DVD are stunning. I love this TV!

    Hi Michael,
I've got the same TV & DVD as you and wondered what the cables
were that you got in the end, did you get the PGV332 for Pds30.
Looked at QED component video but seems studid spending Pds100 on cables
when the DVD is only 145.
    Best Rgds / paul

heh the Tosh ZP18 is a sweet TV when things work... When spiking, dark patches etc arise then things become annoying. Oddly enough only now my TV has slowly stopped spiking the image... Probably because it knows that it will be replaced with the new model ^_^
