ok.. new panny 42 going up on the wall tonight and whilst the guys are ferreting around with cables I'm considering asking them to connect up (if it's feasible, and indeed exists!) a component --> vga cable.

As a sort of future proofing for when i get a component capable dvd player.

OR, would it be better to wait and when i do get the player (which is dependant upon selling my phillips dvd recorder, beloved yammy dsp-a2, kef q's and tsunami sub) which'll probablly be spring time (and the denon all-in-one solution, or maybe the panny recorder/amp combo as they're more wife friendly) use a dedicated component card?

What panny for a start? as the PW7 doesnt accept a component signal on the VGA connection. The PW6 does.

    Or are we talking Viera?

    sorry, it's a pw6...

which as it does take the relevant signal, i was wondering if this solution was as good as the dedicated board.
