My DVD player has component out but my LCD TV only has two scart sockets one of which is RGB. At the moment I have scart out of DVD into an RGB Scart switch (freeview and VCR also feed via scart into this), one scart then leads into the RGB scart on the TV. DVD player has progressive scan but my LCD TV does not.

I've noticed that you can buy a component to scart lead - my question is if I bought one would it produce a better picture?

Only if your TV accepts component through scart . Although they are both RGB signals , they are different and not interchangable with each other .

Some Loewe Tv's accepted Comp into scart , so its not unheard of . Best to rtfm ,before shelling out for the lead .
