I am going to be in the marlet for a plasma in afew months...........

At the moment i have a jvc dvd recorder connected to my panasonic projector via component out - this gives me prog scan on dvd's watched on the projector and very good quality it is.

BUT the great thing about this dvd recorder is that whatever source you put into it (via rgb or svideo or whatever) it out puts everything prog scan - so i have sky plus scart into jvc dvd recorder and voila out comes prog scan sky picture from the jvc recorder to the projector.

Will this be the same for a plasma?

Effectively using the jvc recorder as a switching box to get prog scan - the improvement on the projector pic is amazing!

Hope its just as good for plasma!

If it works for the projector there is absolutely no reason that the plasma will not also understand the prog scan signal coming from the DVD recorder. It is the DVD recorder that is doing the conversion from interlace RGB to prog scan component.
