Component to hdmi

I got one of the old xbox 360. When they first come out

I use the component lead but my amp dont for some reason pick up picture only sound. So idealy want to use a hdmi. Can this be done?

Im assuming some adapter or convertor??

Component is all analog , HDMI is all digital , so no adaptor or cable can work to convert between the two , this can only be done with active electronics.

Beware of all the third party sellers on amazon who sell "component to HDMI cables".
Such products are a fraud and cannot possibly work.

Note that the product works one way only , thats from component to HDMI and not the other way around.

Are you sure you have the red/white audio cables assigned to the correct Component video input as I had to set mine up manually on my amp when I hooked up my Wii via Component.
