Component/Scart/RGB/S Video.... which do I use?

    Can someone please explain the differences or post a link to show me what the above do and which options are best for my about to arrive Th42PA20 which has various connectors on the rear , with different scarts showing different varities of input on each AV channel.

    If you do a search there are literally hundreds of posts on this subject.

    In summary, in terms of quality they are, best first:

    Component (progressive scan)
    RGB (although some people claim it is superior to component but it does not have prog scan capability)
    S-Video
    Composite

    Scart is a physical connector which can output various signals - RGB, composite, etc.

    If you have component sockets, use those - assuming of course your feed (e.g. DVD) has component output.
    If not use the Scart RGB input.
    Failing that you can use S-Video.
