component prog scan from pc ?

    is there a card that sends out pal and ntsc progressive scan through component connections ,playing a dvd /hq avi from the hard drive to the tele ( 57wh36 rear pro ) which has prog scan..

    if so what price do they start from /

    also what about a pc card that has rgb if above is a no go.

    The VGA output from a PC is RGB AFAIK, you just need the right cable, never seen a component output as in Y/Cr/Cb/whatever.

    PC output is always progressive via VGA or DVI unless you select a specifically interlaced refresh rate.

    Radeons and nVidia cards are all multi-format AFAIK, my Radeon can be selected for NTSC or PAL output via the drivers, cheaper ones have a jumper, though I've never bothered trying to use them in NTSC mode.

    With PowerStrip one can even select "interlaced" output!

    I have a gforce xt5600 just now which has a svideo out to the tele which looks great , (for films etc ) but the normal screen/windows is understandibly pants.

    so if theres a lead i can buy that will go from vga connection to component in on the tele that will be great,and it will be progressive ?

    hope so !!!

    I'm pretty sure the ATi All-In-Wonder cards have the capability of outputting component.
