I believe we in dear old blighty get the short stick again!

If you search on US sites you will see that the majority of nVidia manufacturers include adapters for HDTV. This comprises of a dongle that connects to a version of the standard s-video socket. I believe it has something like 9 pins but I may be confusing it with some old bowling game! Anyway, the dongle provides component output sockets (RCA) and an s-video socket.

We don't seem to get them over here in the UK.

Sorry I don't have a real answer for you but I have a nVidia 6600GT with vivo which comes with a dongle giving component video out.

I also have a 6800GT but this doesn't have vivo.

So I know some nVidia cards can do component via a vivo connection but do'nt know if it's possible via DVI.

The Gigabyte Passive cooled 6600 comes with a component dongle similar to DaveP's photo, available from ourselves and many others. Adding it to an existing card is, I believe, not possible.

I can confirm that! I've just taken delivery of the Gigabyte 6600 Passive cooled card (see my other thread) and it does indeed come with the component dongle :smashin:

There are loads available where they are included in the retail package, but never seen them available separately...

So are we assuming that my card nvidia 6800GT with dual dvi output can be converted to component output if i could get hold of one of the gigabyte dongle things :smashin:

You need to check the "s-video" outut on the end plate. If it only has the normal 4 pins then the dongle won't fit.
