Arcam via component (do you have an AV amp?) and SKy+ via either via Scart to scart board (not best) JS RGB>VGA (my preference), JS RGB>YUV via AV amp, or S-video direct to AV amp (either converted by amp to component or fed into panel S-video, great idea for saving costs, but not the best long term)

Arcam AVR 250? does this switch component video? I doubt it converts S-Video either so a componet board and Either the JS RGB>VGA or JS RGB>YUV if the amp switches component

I have just been into a certain Hi - Fi shop to get cables etc for my new sony having installed tomorrow & they have said best way is to use s-video and component re sony plasma/sony surround system with dvd/sky plus. No scart lead they said if you want the best connections.......now confused  I would have thought first thing would need would be scart but they say audio/optical leads way to go....but what do I know, apart from they cost £130!
