    Hi,

I recently got a Panasonic TH42PE30B plasma but believe it or not, its still in its box!! (have'nt had time to set it up!).

Now......im using DVD and Sky+ as my sources. Both these devices have component inputs. My plasma only has one component input. Which source shall I use to put into the component - DVD or Sky+??
For DVD, is S-video or Component better??

    Thanks in advance

Component is better than S-VHS and also allows progressive scan!

Sky+ as standard does not have component outputs.

I think you may be confusing component for composite. Both analogue signals but on the opposite sides of quality to one another.

Component is much better quality and is the connection with 3 phono plugs coloured Red, Green and Blue. As Hornydragon said, Sky + does not have this, but it can be connected via scart set to RGB which gives an on par performance. Your DVD player is more likely to have the component out for the best transfer of pictures.

On a plasma composite signals (single yellow plug)tend not to look good which is probably why there is only 1 on your screen.
