I appologise for what might seem a daft question.
If a tv has component inputs does that mean it is progressive scan capable?
    Thanks Simon

    Sadly, No !

Unless an input is specifically labelled as 'HD ready' or mentions progressive scan it will only be able to take interlace sources.

It is impossible for Composite or S-Video connections to ever carry progressive scan, while RGB and Component can, but not always!

    Hope this helps,

    Oasis

I know the Samsung 43 inch is progressive, but i think that is an LCD model. Still looks good, might get mine this week.

Daft question, i've ordered a Pioneer 737 - how will I connect it to the Samsung - i.e. what cable do I need to connect them (any links of what/where to purchase appreciated here).

Will this cable work for Pal and NTSC (even though the progressive is only NTSC?).

    Please help

    cheers, jon.
