My 21" (Gateway 2000, VX1100, ex-CAD or something) monitor has a full set (of 5) BNC connectors in addition to the normal power cable and video cable.

Can I output from my hifi separates DVD player (i.e. component out) directly into the monitor? And if so, if I buy a progressive scan DVD player in the future, could it also be used for that, making full use of the progressive scan capability?

    Thanks

The 5 BNC sockets are probably just another RGBHV input. Check your manual. They should be labled R G B H V is they are.

They will not accepct a prgressive component Y-Pb-Pr output from a DVD player etc.
