    Hi,
I needed some help from you guys... This might not be the right forum but anyway... I got an XBOX and I got the component video cables but I still don't have a TV with component input. (I bought it cause I'm going to a buy a TV in the next couple of months.) So, is there anyway I can convert the component signal to a composite signal for the time being? Can my AV reciever do this, it has component input and composite out( Denon AVR-3801) ...Let me know if I left something out.

    Thanks

Your amp can't do this. I am not sure of any transcoders that go in that direction....You could plug in the Y part to composite and watch in black and white.....or perhaps not. Why don't you just go and buy an XBOX composite lead?

True. That the only way to get 5.1 on a Xbox is by RGB or component lead is the most stupid design flaw in the machine.

For the price of a convertor, you could but about 20 official RGB scarts.

Better to go down this route of a new Scart lead (it will pass composite as well if your TV doesn't do RGB:eek: ) that to spend a small fortune (10-15 games at full price) trying to downgrade your picture.

    Convertor (>£500)

    Cable (<£20)

    or

(I have this one which has been modded to terminate in phono's to allow AV switching via my amp)
