I am looking for component cables to buy to link up the SD220e DVD with the matching tosh 32ZD26p telly. Does anyone know where to buy good quality component cables but I don't want to pay silly prices. A Quad cable I saw at Richer sounds for 100! that's the same price as the DVD!

Are component cables generally far more expensive then Scart cables?

it took me ages to find the cables when I first got my Tosh

Dixons, Currys, Comet, Richer Sounds were all useless

Richer sounds claimed a s-video provided the best picture, followed by normal scart (NOT RGB) then component cables

clearly they hadn't heard of component and thought i was talking about composite

I ended up buying mine from the high st version of the internet retailer i bought the dvd player from, which i bought by looking at kelkoo.com

However, all the hassle i went to i would suggest an internet based company. It was a while ago things may have improved on the high street.

always seem to get recommended do a search

Try the Supra AV3 component cable. I bought one to replace an IXOS component cable and the difference was certainly worthwhile. If you buy from supra direct they've got a sale on at the moment. www.supradirect.co.uk . At the moment the AV3 is selling for £51.99 for a 1 metre length. This is a real bargain.

Yep get the Supra AV3. If have got them in 24Ft length (8m) and they are superb. By accident they also send me Chord Company component cables in the same length so I was able to perform a direct comparison. I definitely preffered the Supra (Swedish) cables.

For once I agree with What Hi-Fi in their 5 star review :clown:

For sure if you're handy with a soldering iron try making an AV3 cable yourself. and save a packet. I've made for myself one and an AV6 RGB scart to Scart.

    AV3 per linear metre £8.79

    AV6 per linear metre £10.39

prices include tax and UK postal delivery from Supra direct.

    Bargains eh :p

Thanx for your reply but what type of component is best for my gear?

I've looked at the supradirect website but they have three different types of components that is 'AV3 3Phono to 3Phono' 'AV3 3Phono to 3BNC' and 'AV3 3BNC to 3Phono'

Which one do I need for my Tosh DVD and TV?
