Component Cables

    Hopefully this is in the right forum, im thing of getting QED component cables for my pioneer 575 DVD player, would I notice a big difference over my Thor Scart cables.

    Component is generally acknowledged as a better connection option than SCART, and it would also bring with it progressive scan which I think the SCART signal doesn't provide.

    Note that component, unlike SCART, carries video only hence you'll need to make other arrangements for audio, usually a separate surround sound system...PJ

    Ye i no about the audio, i only want to know if it will make a big difference from scart.

    A lot depends on your display. Some will give a poor picture with even the best YUV component cables, but perhaps a good RGBcvS picture via scart. But in most cases YUV will beat scart, especially if the DVD player can output a progressive signal (and the display can accept it) that can only be sent via YUV. Also the bigger the screen the more you are likely to notice a difference.

    A good dealer should be willing to lend you a component cable so you can see for yourself.

    I would get the Mark Grant cable, as its a s good as it gets and dosnt cost the earth :)
