Finally got some component cables to connect my Denon DVD-A1 to my AVC-A1SR which in turn is connected to the component input of my Sim2 HT300.
When I select the YcrCb input on the projector and dvd on the amp, I get a intermittent distorted red partial image and eventually the proj gives up and says "no signal"!
Any ideas as to what's wrong?

I have now tried plugging the red, green and blue component cables that lead to my projector straight into the DVD A1 and I get full colour (hurrah!) BUT a flickery image split vertically down the middle (boo!)...
Looks like the cable to the projector (which also has a yellow composite lead supplying sync signal as well for RGB duty) is not supplying a proper component signal.
I'll call Prestige later as they supplied and installed the Sim2.
