I've been E mailing VDC trading about van damme component cables but no response. Has anyone gone for their multi core cable or 3x the straight 75ohm cable?

I also want to upscale my picture from composite into a component signal - I know some receivers now do it but can you buy a box from somewhere that does the same?

I think Joe Fernand is a dealer for Van Damme cables - I bought my VGA cable when I got my plasma. Try his website, tmfsolutions.co.uk

I bought 3 x 75 ohm components from Van Damme to connect my DVD to Panasonic Plasma. Seem to be performing OK to me but then as I've only just set up the plasma and I've no other component cables I've not got much to benchmark them against.

But my thoughts on this were... if they are good enough for Joe Fernand to stock and sell then there can't be too much wrong with them. And they are a decent price as well.

BTW I phoned my order through to Van Damme - didn't even try e-mail.

I bought some Van Damme cable last year from Joe
at the media factory too. (10M 3x75Ohm component cable)
Excellent value cable (41ish in total).
You have to ring him and send him a cheque though.

    Hello Rob,

None of those cables you mention appear to have 75 ohm connectors.

The connectors are just as important as the cable.

Have a look at this thread

    Hello all

The black art of cables is upon you all!

    Gazzer
Its a fair bit less expensive if you stick with three times Van Damme 75 Ohm as opposed to the Red series Mini or Standard video multicore.

To upscale your Composite and S-Video to YUV Component you could consider a Silicon Image iScan Ultra at around £550; though maybe you had something a little less pricey in mind (if you did dont bother the results will probably not be worth the effort).

The iScan also line doubles and deinterlaces and has a Chroma filter - you will require a VGA to 3RCA cable to connect it to your TV or AV Processor.

    Rob
With the cables we sell (Van Damme, QED, Supra and BetterCables) you generally start with a base price for a 1.0m cable (including the connectors and assembly labour) and then add in additional cable in 1.0m lengths as required.

With Van Damme in particular an additional 1.0 or 2.0M in length adds practically nothing to the over all cost.

The Van Damme range offers excellent value for money and the likes of the BBC Studios, Abbey Road and many professional Sound and Video studios and OB vehicles are crammed full of Van Damme cables and connectors.

    Best regards

    Joe

    Hello all

Just a quick follow up to my previous post.

If anyone requires a set of VanDamme cables pre-fitted with 75ohm RCA connectors we can provide them using the Canare 75 ohm plugs; there will be a small surcharge for the Canare plugs.

Also the BetterCables Silver Reference cables we supply are fitted with the Cabare 75 ohm plugs whilst the Silver Serpent use unbranded 75 ohm plugs.

    Best regards

    Joe
