I'm using just some crappy phonos I have around the house, but would rather have a nice 3 phono cable at around 3m in length. I balk at having to pay 100 quid for the privelage, so is there anything more modestly priced on the market?

    Have a look at www.lektropacks.com

just bought a 3m 4 strand component + composite lead custom made for £60, but they have some a lot cheaper too.

No wonder you have problems with the quality on your LG screen. Phono leads....shame on you :lesson:

Seriously though I have read somewhere that you get problems with signal degridation if you dont use proper component cables.

If you spend £2500 grand on a plasma screen you have to get the right cables and connects, but it dosnt mean you have to pay silly money for them. I got RS to throw in a descent set in the price for my screen :smoke:

Don't go too cheap with your cables! You've spent quite a bit on your system, don't ruin the effect.

While using the right signals to your screen are going to give you the biggest gains, using good quality cables would be the icing. Without it, the cake is a bit dry without flavour. Not everybody will want to spend £100 on a cable, and I understand your point of view. Find a good quality 75 ohm cable which is fit for your purpose.

Good to see a local in the forum!

    All the best,

    Dr John Sim.

Glad there's no-one threatening to lash me with their platinum cored phono lead in disapproval.:D

Thanks guys, I'll look into it once I'm back from LA.:smoke:
