    Hi,

I have a DVD recorder with component connectors and have just purchased an LCD TV with component connectors.
Do I use the component connectors as well as the scart cable to connect them or instead of?

    Any help gratefully received.

My understanding of things is that generally component is expected to give better quality output and you wouldn't need scart lead plugged in too.

    Hi grantrh.
component way superior to scart. Make sure progressive scan switched on if DVD player has that feature. Very good PQ and plug the sound into the ol' surround sound and away you go!
    Enjoy

I'm sort of new to this av thing, so please be patient. How would one get sound to the tv if one uses the component connectors? Through the red and white cinch connectors?

Red/White audio out from DVD Recorder to same in on TV , but optical/coaxial out from DVD to 5.1 Surround Amp if you got one.
