On the dvd player are you talking about setting your scart lead to rgb in the menus? if so then yes a fully wired scart would carry the audio aswell.

If its the 3 component RCAs on the back of the unit then no its just picture. You would then need to run the two L/R audio RCA connectors aswell. So 5 Cables.

thanks for that

from what i can gather if i use the Y Pb Pr (GBR) it will give the best picture to the tv, it then gets upscaled by the tv

then i would use the R/L ANALOG (red/white phono cables) for the sound ?

have i got that right ?

that would work :)

just make sure you set the DVD player to output component in the menu

Enjoy

Yep!

Just be careful not to get RGB (available in several different versions - RGsB, RGBcvS & RGBHV) confused with YUV Component (Y Pb Pr & Y Cb Cr) as they are not the same even although they are connected with Red, Green & Blue phono's

Mark.
