Component & 5.1 - what do I need?

Hi,

I am a complete noob when it comes to Xbox and I'm picking up a second hand Xbox tonight and I want to know what do I need to do to it to output at 480 and 5.1? I know I need a cable but I've heard you need to mod the Xbox to output via component etc? Help!

Hi,

Your best bet is to chip the box first then you will need the HD component cable which includes optical out then change xbox settings to NTSC (this will enable you to run 480, 720 & 1024.

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately I haven't got either of the games they mention or a memory card, is there any other way to enable HD?
